Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage is a gentle, non-intrusive technique designed to reduce swelling in areas that have had lymph nodes removed for the treatment of cancer or have recently undergone cosmetic surgery. The therapist uses light, fingertip pressure to guide excess fluid toward the body's healthy lymph nodes, where it is reabsorbed and cleansed.

Massage After Lymphadenectomy
After lymph node removal, the arms and/or legs can experience massive pitting edema that can make you feel “heavy” and hindered when moving throughout the day. We recommend regular bi-monthly Lymphatic Drainage massages to flush the accumulated lymph towards the remaining nodes to relieve pressure in the affected areas and prevent recurring discomfort.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is great for everyone! The technique is exactly the same in both cases: gentle strokes guiding lymphatic fluid towards the body’s lymph nodes to be absorbed and flushed out. However, the massage tends to be confined to affected areas only for post-op while a Wellness massage will include the full body.
